The Pressure Seal Gate Valve is specifically designed for high-pressure and high-temperature applications commonly found in power plants, refineries, and petrochemical industries. Unlike bolted bonnet valves, the pressure seal design uses internal pressure to enhance the seal between the valve body and bonnet, ensuring tight sealing performance and reducing the possibility of leakage. These valves are ideal for steam, superheated water, and other aggressive services.
Typically available in pressure classes 600 to 2500 and sizes ranging from 2” to 24”, pressure seal gate valves are built to standards like ASME B16.34 and API 600. The body materials can include carbon steel (WCB), chrome-moly alloys (WC6, WC9, C12), and stainless steels (CF8, CF8M), suitable for demanding environments. The wedge can be solid, flexible, or split, and is hard-faced to ensure long service life. Rising stems with outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) construction allow clear visual indication of valve position.
